The Toronto Maple Leafs are in Washington to take on the Capitals tonight and one of the biggest storylines in this one has the Leafs opting to roll with Joseph Woll in goal over former Capitals netminder Ilya Samsonov.

Samsonov has struggled greatly this season, to the tune of a horrendous 4.34 GAA and .831 SV% over his first 4 games. To say those are disappointing numbers would be an understatement. On Monday, a former Capitals teammate of Samsonov's made sure to poke a little fun at the 26-year-old because of those struggles.

Evgeny Kuznetsov, who played 3 seasons with the Leafs' netminder in Washington, appears to have no problem kicking a man while he's down. When it was announced that Joseph Woll would get the nod on Tuesday, Kuznetsov took the opportunity to dig at Samsonov, who drew backup duties in this one.

"I guess now we have to try a little more harder," - Kuznetsov, with a laugh.

He was quick to state that he was only joking with Samsonov and that the former Capital still has a lot of friends in Washington. However, with the Leafs trying to connect back-to-back wins and the Capitals also looking to add one in the plus column in their 1-2-1 record. I'm sure that once the puck drops, there will be no friends out there until the final horn sounds.
