Leafs mourning the loss of a former goaltender after his passing
Over the weekend, it was reported by Sportsnet650's Joey Kenward that former Leafs goaltender Dunc Wilson passed away. Wilson passed away at the age of 75 in Utila, Honduras, where he had been living for many years, according to the Vancouver Canucks Alumni Association.
Following the news, the Leafs released a statement regarding Wilson's passing:
"We are saddened to hear of the passing of Dunc Wilson. Dunc spent two seasons with the Maple Leafs from 1973-1975 and appeared in 49 games. Our condolences are with his friends and family."
The Toronto native played in 49 games for the Leafs over the two seasons he spent with the club posting a record of 17-22-7. Wilson also spent parts of his 287 NHL games with the Flyers, Rangers, Penguins and had two stints with the Canucks. He last played in the NHL in the 1978-79 season before retiring.
"In his retirement, Dunc loved to travel the world and spend time with his family," the NHL Alumni Association said.
