The Winnipeg Jets have found themselves in a tough spot. Not even a week ago they were informed by second line center Pierre-Luc Dubois that his intention is to test free agency in 2024. It seems as if they have already been looking for a new home for PLD, and though it didn't take long, they may have found their match.

Per NRD; The New York Rangers have been in talks with the Jets about acquiring the former 3rd overall pick. If the Jets are going into a full on rebuild, the Rangers are a great team to link up with, as the Jets will have a great chance to acquire some top end prospects to kick off the rebuild.

Dubois, 24, has proven to be a very good two-way power forward. His numbers this year were solid, putting up 28 goals a career high and 32 assists for 60 points. With numbers like that the Jets can definitely get a solid return from the Rangers for Dubois, should that be the route they choose to go.

An ideal trade from the Rangers would certainly start with Kaapo Kakko, a young winger who is struggling to find his offensive flair at the NHL level. That may not sound tempting but the potential is definitely there. Another young forward that could be a target would be Vitali Kravtsov. He is a big skilled winger and could definitely bring some scoring to the Jets top six. A sweetener of a first round pick would almost certainly be added, with the potential for more pieces involved.
