Last night, midway through the second period of the Flyers and Senators game, Flyers forward and resident tough guy Nick Deslauriers dropped the gloves with Auston Watson in a spirited tilt. As he was being escorted to the penalty box, Mark Kastelic of the Sens and Deslauriers got into a verbal altercation.

The verbal altercation appeared to set Deslauriers off and he challenged Kastelic to a fight. After escaping the grasp of the linesman, Deslauriers and Kastelic squared off against the boards by the penalty boxes with Deslauriers landing a few shots on Kastelic as the linesmen attempted to break the fight up.

It was the second and third fight of the period as just a minute before Alex DeBrincat and Joel Farabee fought. Kastelic was assested two 10 minute misconducts and 5 minutes for fighting, with Deslauriers receiving 10 minutes for fighting and a 10 minute misconduct.

It's certainly not something that you see everyday, and I can't remember the last time a player fought twice during the same stoppage in play, but it would not be surprising to see the Department of Player Safety fine Deslaurier and Kastelic, which would be stupid.
