After a 3-year stint in New York and a short stop over in Buffalo, the Leafs signed 2016 Hobey Baker winner Jimmy Vesey to a 1-year deal worth $900K. His tenure in Toronto wouldn't last long, however, as Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe viewed Vesey's performance as "vanilla", ultimately leading to him being waived and claimed by the Vancouver Canucks.

After a 68-game stint in New Jersey last season, it's all come around full circle for Vesey, who returned to where it all started and signed with the New York Rangers this summer. Now, he's earned himself a 2-year extension with the Rangers worth $800K per season.

Vesey hasn't recorded a point in his last 7 games, but did pot a pair of goals against the Leafs back on December 15th to secure a win for the Rangers in Madison Square Garden.

Vesey was originally a 3rd round pick of the Nashville Predators back in 2012. However, rather than joining the Preds, Vesey elected to go the college route, playing 4 seasons for Harvard before becoming seeing his draft rights expire, becoming an NCAA free agent. The 26-year-old has amassed 78 goals and 147 points in 460 career NHL games.
