A former Leaf has found himself in some trouble with his league's disciplinary committee after landing a questionable hit with what the SHL's disciplinary committee called a ''forceful hit with a high risk of injury'' to the opposing player. He was also ejected from the game for the hit, which did not seem intentional, but it certainly didn't look good.

According to Swedish sports news outlet, Expressen, former Leafs defenseman Andreas Borgman (Frolunda HC) has been suspended four games for a dangerous knee-on-knee hit on Linkoping HC's Broc Little. The hit sent Little limping off in considerable discomfort.

Following the game, Little spoke with the Swedish media, sharing his opinion that he did not feel as though the hit was thrown with malicious intent. It was more just an unfortunate situation that arose when two players were just trying to make a play.

"I don't think it was intentional, he comes in aggressively but we both tried to play it, it is what it is, bad luck for me. I don't think it was foul play."

Borgman spent two years with the Leafs' organization from 2017-2019, appearing in 48 games for the Leafs and 70 games for the AHL's Toronto Marlies. In 48 games with the Leafs, Borgman recorded 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points.

The 27-year-old blueliner returned to Sweden in 2021 after spending time with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars organizations, primarily in an AHL capacity.
