It's been a few years since he donned the blue and white, but nobody could possibly forget Tyson Barrie's short tenure in Toronto. Part of it is because of what it cost the Leafs to bring him in, but the other part was how horribly he played in his earliest days with the organization and how he was at least partially responsible for getting Mike Babcock fired.

Now in his third season in Edmonton, The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta is reporting that the Oilers are looking to move on from Tyson Barrie. The biggest factor here is likely the cap space it would open up for the Oilers. Barrie is signed through this season and next and carries a $4.5M cap hit.

It hasn't been the worst start to the season for the 31-year-old, who has 21 points through 30 games thus far, which projects out to around 57 points. Having said that, Barrie's offensive impacts are not nearly good enough to outweigh his defensive lapses - a pain Leafs fans know all too well.

The Oilers have been attempting to move Barrie for the last season and a half now, but to no avail. Maybe this time, they'll find a dance partner - though I'm sure the main hurdle to overcome will be whether or not they'll agree to eat some salary.
