Before Game 1 of the 2nd Round between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers, former NHL agitator, Sean Avery, took to a podcast to discuss his thoughts and prediction for the series. Avery is not a fan of the Leafs and that's putting it lightly as he had an appearance at the end of April discussing how much he hates the Leafs and how they were getting lucky against the Lightning.

This time around, he didn't mince his words, explaining how he believes that the Panthers are going to "annihilate" the Leafs. He was glad that they got past the Lightning only because he thinks the Panthers are going to run through Toronto with relative ease.

"The Florida Panthers are going to feed the Toronto Maple Leafs with a baby spoon. They're going to treat them like f*****g children, it is gonna be a railroad okay? Where did that train crash happen, in Ohio? What was the town called? Well, that's what's gonna happen... It was terrible, it was terrible, the APA, we can put the tin foil hat on or whatever. But the Florida Panthers are going to sh*t kick, annihilate the Toronto Maple Leafs and I'm actually glad that the Leafs beat Tampa Bay so that they can get the beating that they're about to get."

For the time being, Avery can be beaming from ear to ear as the Panthers took Game 1 from the Maple Leafs and are currently riding a 4-game winning streak after taking down the Bruins while they were on the brink of elimination three straight times.

Nevertheless if our memory serves correctly, the Lightning did the very same thing last series with a dominating victory in Game 1 but then succumbed in 4 of the following 5 games. Will history repeat itself? We'll find out.
