Josi is one of the NHL's premier defensemen, having just finished a season that saw him post a staggering 96 point total and finish 2nd in Norris Trophy voting to Cale Makar. He's also a proven playoff performer, having helped the Preds make it all the way to the Stanley Cup finals in 2017. When Josi gives an opinion on your team, it's wise to listen to him.
When asked what team he thinks will represent the Eastern Conference in the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals, Josi shocked those in attendance by choosing the Leafs. Evidently, Josi sees something that many even within the Leafs' own fanbase do not. Personally, as much as I would love to see it, the last decade has made me gun shy about predicting any type of success. I do, however, think that the Leafs are a better team than their playoff record shows. Will this be the year they finally break through? Josi sure seems to think so.
Also, as a fun add on, The Score's Kyle Cushman was kind enough to point out that Josi was actually drafted with a pick that was traded by the Leafs back in 2007. Maybe he has a bit of an underlying passion in him because he could have been a Leaf!
