In the second period, the Leafs allowed Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov to walk in all alone on Woll. Kaprizov looked to have Woll beat as he attempted to put the puck past him on the blocker side, only to have Woll go into the splits to make a ridiculous pad save.
That save wasn't it for Woll, as the Wild forced overtime and looked to have the game won when the Leafs had all three players in the corner, and the puck came out to the slot for Joel Eriksson Ek. Eriksson Ek could have taken a nap with all the time he had in the slot before taking a shot. Instead, he tried to fake out Woll and put it into the empty net, but Woll made an excellent desperation save to keep the Leafs alive.
William Nylander scored the game-winner shortly thereafter, sending the Leafs home with four points in their trip to Sweden. The Leafs and Woll will have until Friday to recover from the week of festivities and jet lag before taking on the Chicago Blackhawks later this week. The travel isn't quite done for the Leafs, though, as their next two games are in Chicago and Pittsburgh.
