Injured Leaf back on the ice on Monday; when should we expect him back?
After playing over 15 minutes and 30 seconds in a loss to the Boston Bruins on April 6th, Calle Jarnkrok came out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens to rest what Sheldon Keefe called some bumps and bruises.
Keefe had listed Jarnkrok as day-to-day, but with the Leafs having just 3 games remaining in the season, it was anyone's guess as to what that might mean for Jarnkrok's status this week. On one hand, some rest might do him some good before the playoffs. On the other hand, he has looked sharp alongside Auston Matthews, but hasn't played with him a lot, so these extra few games could be important for some chemistry-building before the postseason.
The Leafs are not expected to have an official morning skate today, but Jarnkrok was one of a handful of Leafs to take the ice in Florida, suggesting that he will not play tonight. It's unknown what his status will be for tomorrow's game in Tampa, but with the tight turnaround between games with travel, I'd imagine they'll opt to hold him out of these 2 games and re-insert him for the season finale against the Rangers on April 13th.
