John Tortorella has some harsh words about the All-Star game, All-Star weekend
Things aren't going so well for the Philadelphia Flyers this season as they not only battle injury, but things are also less than ideal for their coach, John Tortorella as well. Tortorella has been very outspoken since he arrived and has called out multiple players multiple times this season so far.
Yesterday, Tortorella was asked what his thoughts were on the All-Star Game and All-Star Weekend. In classic Torts fashion, he had quite the response. It's safe to say that he's not a fan.
"That whole weekend, I don't even watch it. I don't give a shit."
It's no surprise that Tortorella doesn't watch it given his distaste for anything skillful in the league. He was very critical of the Trevor Zegras/Sonny Milano "dishigan" play last season and does not enjoy the creativity and innovation that the next generation of NHL players have injected into the game. A hockey purist, Tortorella is very much living in the past and has closed himself off to anything that goes against tradition.
