Matt Murray gave up 5 goals on the first 17 shots he faced last night against the Kraken. It was the second game in a row where the Leafs gave up 5 or more goals and although the offence was non-existent last night, the goaltending was as well.

There were a lot of questions about Murray to start the year - especially after he was hurt in the first week of the regular season. For the most part, Murray has answered those questions, but with his recent run of play, doubt is creeping in for some once again - especially after allowing 5 goals on 21 shots last night. Following the game, Murray acknowledged his poor play and shouldered the blame for the 5 goals.

"It just comes down to a stretch in the second period there where if I make an extra save or two, keep us in the game, it could be a whole lot different."

The Leafs are 1-2-1 since the return of Morgan Rielly and are ranked 32nd in the league in save percentage since December 15th. Hopefully both Murray and running-mate Ilya Samsonov can regroup and find their game quickly, or it may be a long second half of the season for the Leafs.
