As seen above, Kadri's wife shared some of the messages they have received since Game 3. Those messages are so far offside and cross so many lines. It's ridiculous that he and anyone for that matter have to deal with such comments over a play that he can't control. During his post game interview Kadri was asked about those comments and said, "unfortunately, I've dealt with it for a very long time. I'm getting good at putting it in the rearview mirror. It's a big deal, I try to act like it's not."
He also said, "At the end of the day, I worry about some people, some kids that aren't as mentally tough as I am that have to go through that, go through that scrutiny." Kadri knows he has a platform and as much as he downplays the incidents he is subject to, he knows he has a voice and is trying to make people more aware of how hurtful those comments and messages can be. The NHL has attempted and failed multiple times to make the game more inclusive, but incidents like this always set the league and game back.
Not only do incidents set the league back in growing the game, but it sets the entire hockey community back at the grassroots level as well. While many of us are doing our best to make the game more inclusive it's idiots like those in his DMs that scare kids away from learning and playing the game and it needs to end.
