The surprise for many is that he hasn't changed a single thing! Keefe is rolling with the same lines from Tuesday's disappointing loss to the Edmonton Oilers where Toronto held a lead for majority of the game only to allow yet another late goal against in the third period, amounting to another blown lead resulting in a loss.
The Calgary Flames have won ten of their last fourteen games, that have included tight losses and multi-goal wins, so for anyone thinking that the Flames are going to be a walk in the park for the Leafs, think again. If the Leafs want to have any hope of coming away with a win, they'll need to put forth a concerted effort for a full 60 minutes.
The main focus this week amongst the Maple Leafs players and coaching staff is working on when the team has a lead and when they're trailing late in a game. Another focal point has been special teams, working on being more aggressive and well structured on the penalty kill, which needs a whole lot more consistency. The powerplay, which needs to generate more scoring chances, also remains a focus.
With that being said, the one major change to the special teams is Mark Giordano coming off the second powerplay unit and Matthew Knies drawing into the mix.
Fans are hoping that Keefe knows what he's doing by not tweaking the lineup ahead of tonight's matchup in Calgary, but the Leafs' head coach has made some questionable moves this season and along this rough stretch.
