Fresh off of a 5-2 victory that saw the Leafs snap a 4-game losing streak, the team announced a fairly significant roster move on Friday, which should indicate what type of game the Buds are expecting against Boston on Saturday night.

Per the Leafs' official PR Twitter account, the team has called up veteran enforcer Wayne Simmonds from the Marlies. In a subsequent move, the team also announced that they have loaned rookie defenseman Filip Kral back to the Marlies.

Simmonds has played in just 3 games for the Leafs this season, registering 1 lone assist. He is averaging 3 hits per game this season, with a total of 9 hits on the season and has yet to drop the gloves for the Buds. He has, however, made sure to let the opposition know when he's on the ice, mixing it up after the whistle.

As for Kral, he averaged just 9:58 of ice time per game during his 2-game trial with the Leafs this week. The Czech defenseman did not record a point in his 2 games, but he did block one shot and land 2 hits. He figures to be an important defenseman for the Marlies this season, but what his pair of games told us is that he's not quite ready for the NHL just yet.
