After a day off on Sunday, the Toronto Maple Leafs are back in action on Monday night against the New York Islanders in a game that has the potential to be a memorable night for Leafs captain John Tavares, who is just 2 points shy of hitting 1,000 career NHL points.

The Leafs took to the ice at UBS Arena on Monday morning, rolling out what appear to be the same forward lines that they used during Saturday's win over Nashville. There was, however, a notable change on the blueline.

After appearing in the last couple of games, Max Lajoie found himself on the outside looking in, skating as an extra with the injured Timothy Liljegren, who continues to work his way back from a high-ankle sprain. William Lagesson, who has been out with an undisclosed illness, skated alongside Jake McCabe on the second pair, while Simon Benoit and Conor Timmins rounded out the D pairings as the 3rd pair. Naturally, Morgan Rielly and T.J. Brodie remained together, as they have nearly the entirety of this season.

Here's a look at the full lineup, per the team's line rushes:

Knies-Matthews-Nylander
Bertuzzi-Tavares-Marner
Robertson-Domi-Jarnkrok
Gregor-Kampf-Reaves
McMann

Rielly-Brodie
Lagesson-McCabe
Benoit-Timmins
Lajoie-Liljegren

The Islanders are 12-7-7 to begin the season and are coming into tonight's game on a 2-game winning streak. The Leafs, coming off of a win against Nashville this weekend, will look to try to build on a dominant 4-0 win with a strong effort again tonight before heading to New York City to battle the Rangers tomorrow night.
