During practice this morning, Klingberg was skating with Conor Timmins, who is also attempting to make his way back into the lineup after injury. That skate did not last long for Klingberg, who left practice after just 10 minutes.
Although Klingberg and Timmins were the fourth pairing for the Leafs during practice, if Klingberg felt well enough to play tomorrow, he could have easily been swapped in on the bottom pairing before the game on Sunday.
Klingberg noted yesterday that he and the Leafs' medical staff were trying a new, aggressive treatment that seemed to help initially as he was able to practice for the first time in Sweden. Unfortunately, it did not seem to work today.
There was no update from the Leafs on Klingberg after practice, which means his status for tomorrow's game is probably doubtful. As much as many Leaf fans have not liked Klingberg's play, you do have to feel for him not being able to play in front of his family and friends in Sweden.
