Leafs fourth liner scores ridiculous highlight-reel goal
The Toronto Maple Leafs are taking on the San Jose Sharks for the second time in four days. They defeated the Sharks 4-1 on Saturday and just two minutes into the second period of tonight's game, went up 4-0 courtesy of a highlight-reel goal from Pontus Holmberg.
Holmberg picked up a chip off the boards from Bobby McMann at full speed and dazzled fans by holding off Sharks defenseman Kyle Burroughs with one arm and flipping a one-handed shot past Sharks goalie Kaapo Kahkonen with the other.
It was Holmberg's first goal in 19 games for the Leafs and garnered quite the reaction from Mitch Marner as well.
Holmberg has skated in 12 games (including tonight) for the Leafs this season and has now registered 1 goal and three points while playing an average of 9:30 per game. After being a healthy scratch against the LA Kings last Tuesday, tonight marks Holmberg's third straight game.
