During a game this morning against Avangard Omsk, Grebyonkin's Khabarovsk pulled off the 3-2 win, thanks in large to his contributions after scoring the go-ahead goal in the 2nd period and converting on his shootout attempt to keep Khabarovsk in the game.
His 2nd period tally was a beautiful play, set up after he created a turnover just inside of his own blueline, feeding linemate Sergei Dubakin before rushing up the middle to get open for the feed in the offensive zone, making no mistake and finding the back of the net.
It's honestly very tough not to get our hopes up about this kid. Yes, I know the KHL and the NHL are different beasts, but what Grebyonkin is doing right now as a 19-year-old is certainly impressive. He still leads all U20 players in the KHL with 23 points in 46 games, which is very strong for such a young player, playing in a league who favours veterans.
