With the Toronto Marlies marching on the AHL playoffs, they have just recently signed the Leafs' 2022 7th round pick Brandon Lisowsky to an amateur tryout. Although it's fantastic news in the general sense of the idea, he is unlikely to get any playing time with the Marlies on cruise control.

Nevertheless, Lisowsky was selected with the 218th overall pick in the recent 2022 NHL Entry Draft - or in other words, the 8th last pick of the draft. The Saskatoon Blades forward has already become a steal without even playing a professional game with his 38-goal, 71-point campaign this past season.

The Marlies defeated the Utica Comets in four games and were waiting patiently for the winner of the Rochester Americans and Syracuse Crunch series. Rochester defeated the Crunch in 5 games after trailing 2-0 in the series.

The Marlies will face off against the Americans in the North Division Finals as they look to move forward to the Conference Finals.

Lisowsky will get some much needed professional experience even if it's just from the press box and during practice sessions. He is only 19 years old and has several years of development still in front of him, but so far so good with another point-per-game campaign.
