It was a day full of great news for the Minten family yesterday. First, Fraser Minten's younger brother, Bryce, was signed by the WHL's Kamloops Blazers - his brother's WHL team - and second, Fraser was given the "C" and centered the Blazers' top line in pre-season action last night.

Minten was a second round pick of the Leafs in the 2022 draft and has continuously grown and developed since being drafted. He had an excellent showing at last year's Maple Leafs training camp before returning to Kamloops and putting together a very strong season in the WHL on one of the league's top teams.

With Minten wearing the "C" for the Blazers' pre-season game last night, many expect him to be named the team's official captain once the season begins. Not only is Minten, 19, one of the senior players on the team, entering his 4th season in Kamloops, but he was a leader on the team last season - a campaign during which he recorded 67 points in 57 games. He also has a reputation for being the hardest working player on the team.

Minten will have a lot of eyes on him at Maple Leafs training camp, which is set to kick off next week.
