The Toronto Maple Leafs are entering a season where they need to be all-in to achieve success, that includes management and the players. The Arizona Coyotes however are in a completely different spot, and are hoping to achieve success in the draft lottery for a chance at Connor Bedard. For this reason, it makes sense that the Leafs and Coyotes could make good trade partners, and the latest report suggests that the Leafs are one of the teams still interested in Jakob Chychrun's services.

The Buds are reportedly one of eight teams that have expressed interest in the 'Yotes defenseman, other teams include the Senators, Ducks, Kings, Panthers, Blue Jackets, Flyers and Bruins. The 24-year-old blue-liner has registered 142 points in 337 games with Arizona, averaging at least 22:26 of TOI over the last three seasons. He is considered by many to be elite, and with a cap hit of $4.6M for another three years, he is an attractive trade target for many teams.

With the Leafs currently $1.5M over the cap, orchestrating a trade of this magnitude would be quite difficult salary-wise, not to mention the quality of picks and prospects that the Coyotes would certainly be looking for. However, given how important this season is for the Leafs, it may very well be worth the price.

All signs point to Chychrun being traded at some point this season, so we'll see where he ends up.
