Luke Schenn lines up Brady Tkachuk at the blueline and absolutely flattens him
Luke Schenn didn't earn the nickname "The Human Eraser" by accident. His willingness to lay his body on the line and throw some huge hits has built him quite the reputation over his lengthy career. Now, the NHL's officials hits leader has added one more to his hit list.
During last night's 3-0 win over the Ottawa Senators, Schenn lined up Senators captain Brady Tkachuk for a huge hit at the Leafs' blueline as the Sens were attempting to gain the zone.
During the broadcast, they were attempting to sell the hit as a knee-on-knee, but as you can see in the replay, Schenn's upward trajectory and follow-through to finish his check were evidence that the hit was a clean one. If anything, it was Tkachuk who had his leg extended in an attempt to brace himself for the hit that caused the incidental knee contact.
At any rate, Tkachuk didn't miss a shift, and Schenn added one more to the highlight reel. This guy is going to be a lot of fun to watch in the playoffs!
