Well, so far through his first 100 minutes of game action for the Leafs, Murray has looked fantastic. In his first 100 minutes, Murray has 2 wins, has stopped 44 of 45 shots, has registered an assist and hasn't allowed a single goal at even strength. Not only that, but he looks to be in mid-season form already after absolutely robbing Juraj Slafkovsky in the second period of last night's game in Montreal.
At just 28, many wondered if Matt Murray's career was almost over after his last couple of seasons in Ottawa, where he was inconsistent and battled injuries regularly. While it's only the preseason, Murray could not have asked for a better start in the blue and white. It not only gives Dubas and Keefe confidence in him, but it takes some of the pressure off of him from the fans.
