Max Domi's comments following loss to Boston shows his commitment to winning in Toronto
Last night should have been cause for celebration with the Leafs looking like the better team against the Boston Bruins. Not only did Auston Matthews pot a pair of goals on the night to break his uncharacteristic slump, but Max Domi also scored his first as a Maple Leaf, which brought the fans at Scotiabank Arena to their feet.
The Leafs took the Bruins to their limit, not only forcing overtime, but coming within 8 seconds of taking the game to a shootout, where they've been particularly good this year. Unfortunately, one slip in the neutral zone by William Nylander led to David Pastrnak connecting with Brad Marchand on the game-winner.
Following the game, Domi didn't seem particularly thrilled about scoring his first of the season - a pretty good indicator that his priorities are in the right place.
"Of course, it feels good to contribute, but that sh*t's irrelevant when you don't win." - Domi on scoring his first goal as a Leaf, but coming up short against Boston
With the monkey off of his back, hopefully Domi will begin to trend upwards in the goals column, because if he can find a way to keep scoring, it only increases the chances of his team winning games.
