One female fan threw an interesting item on the ice after an Auston Matthews hat trick and it wasn't a hat

It's a pretty big part of hockey tradition that if a player on the home team records a hat trick, fans begin to toss their hats on to the ice as a tribute. Well, Auston Matthews being the prolific scorer that he is, we've seen thousands of hats hit the ice over the course of his career. On Saturday evening, though, one female fan threw something else on the ice.

The Leafs came up short in a losing effort to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, bringing their current losing skid to 4 games following a 6-4 loss on home ice. However, Matthews and Marner both had a hell of a game, with the latter notching 4 points, while the former tallied 3 goals for his 3rd hat trick of the season. Among the hats scattered on the ice, though, the ice crew also removed a bra that a female fan had tossed on the ice.

Matthews officially leads the league in scoring with 11 goals in 11 games and let's be honest - this probably isn't going to be his last hat trick. The question is, will this become a bit of a new trend every time #34 tallies a hat trick on home ice?

Matthews currently holds a 2-goal lead over David Pastrnak, Alex DeBrincat, Travis Konecny and Frank Vatrano, who all have 9 goals on the season. Several others, such as Brady Tkachuk and Chris Kreider, are not far behind with 8 goals on the season, though Matthews seems like a pretty good bet to win his 3rd Rocket Richard Trophy in 4 seasons at the rate he's going.
