Panthers down 3-1 to Vegas in the Stanley Cup Finals; latest news on Matthew Tkachuk not great for Florida
There isn't any skin in the game for Leaf fans tonight, unless you're deciding on which ex-Leafs you're hoping will hoist Lord Stanley's Cup. If Carter Verhaeghe and the Panthers want to have any hope of winning the Cup, they'll need to pull off a clutch win in enemy territory tonight in Vegas. However, if the Panthers aren't up to the task, then it will mean Cup rings for a few former Leafs such as Phil Kessel and Michael Amadio, among others.
The Panthers are already facing a difficult situation, down 3-1 in the Finals to a powerhouse Vegas team. What's worse is that the status of several players seems to be up in the air for Florida - including that of Matthew Tkachuk.
"Matthew Tkachuk,
Brandon Montour and
Radko Gudas all absent from Panthers practice today." - Luke Fox on several key Panthers missing from practice on Monday
Panthers head coach Paul Maurice was asked specifically about Tkachuk on Monday and whether or not he'd play on Tuesday. He didn't have much of an update other than to say we'll all have to wait and see.

"Update will be tomorrow. You'll get all that big information tomorrow night." - Maurice on Matthew Tkachuk's status ahead of Game 5
Tkachuk himself spoke with the media and when asked what it would take to keep him out of tonight's all-important Game 5, this is what he had to say:
"That's a tough question. I don't really want to talk about that right now." - Tkachuk on possibly missing Game 5
It's a really tough situation for the Panthers to be in even with a full compliment of players. It's even tougher when you consider possibly missing arguably your best player.
