Kyle Dubas, by volume, has been the busiest GM in the entire National Hockey League ahead of this year's trade deadline. Some of the pieces moved out include a pair of first round picks, Rasmus Sandin and Pierre Engvall, with the main pieces coming back being Ryan O'Reilly, Jake McCabe, Noel Acciari, Sam Lafferty, Luke Schenn, Erik Gustafsson and a 1st round pick.

There's been a lot of discussion in the past as to whether or not the Leafs had done enough before the deadline to give the team the best chance to succeed in the postseason. Well, this year, according to the legendary "Voice of the Maple Leafs" Joe Bowen, there is no question about it - GM Kyle Dubas has done everything in his power to give this team the tools they need to be successful. There are no excuses left. This time, it's not on the management group. This time, it's on the coaches and the players to execute.

"Dubas has sent a message to the core... okay, no more excuses. There's sandpaper, there's grit, there's talent, there's depth, everything is there now."

The craziest thing about the past couple of weeks is that, even though Dubas has addressed a number of issues and has made his team a lot harder to play against, there's still room to go out and improve even more. As it stands, the Leafs' 23-man roster is comprised of 12 forwards, 9 defensemen and 2 goaltenders. There's a strong belief that Dubas is still looking to move a defenseman to bring in another impact forward - perhaps a scoring winger. He has 2023 and 2024 1st round picks at his disposal, plus all of the team's top prospects. Buckle up, Leafs Nation, the next two days are going to be a wild ride.
