Radko Gudas absolutely flattened by Ivan Barbashev, forced to leave Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals
For many in Leafs Nation, the playoffs ended when the Florida Panthers sent the Leafs packing in Round 2. It's tough for some to find the will to keep watching when their team has been eliminated, but for those who have been watching the Stanley Cup Finals so far, they've been in for a treat. This Panthers/Golden Knights series has been one of the most chippy, physical series in recent memory and Game 2 did not disappoint.
When it comes to Radko Gudas, Leaf fans were already not too fond of him after he took a run at T.J. Brodie after the whistle during the Leafs/Panthers series and when he screamed in the face of rookie goaltender Joseph Woll after Nick Cousins' game-winning goal eliminated the Leafs in Game 5. You never like to see a guy hurt, but karma caught up to Gudas in Game 2 against Vegas last night, as Ivan Barbashev absolutely flattened him in this play below:
The Panthers were already forced to play with 11 forwards and 7 defensemen on Monday with Gudas already banged up before the game even began. Gudas saw just 2:11 of ice time in the game, leaving after the hit from Barbashev and not returning.
Obviously, we hope that Gudas is okay, but with his behaviour in these playoffs, especially in the series against the Leafs, I don't know how much sympathy anyone in Leafs Nation will have for him, other than hoping that he was able to avoid any serious injury on the play.
