A lot has been made of Nazem Kadri driving to the net hard to try to bat in a rebound during Game 3 between the Blues and the Avalanche in St. Louis on Saturday and whether or not the play was a dirty one. The big question that I have is would the collision have occurred were it not for the Blues defenseman flying in to force Kadri into Jordan Binnington? In addition, would anyone be making a big deal about it if Binnington hopped right back up on the play? In case you missed it, here's a look.

Unfortunately for the Blues, Binnington came out of the game in the first period as a result of the hit, forcing backup Ville Husso into the St. Louis goal. The Blues ended up dropping a 5-2 decision to the Avs, but that's not all they may have lost, as the Blues are concerned that Binnington's injury could be longer term.

The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford was reporting on Saturday night that a source close to the situation says that Binnington could be week-to-week after the collision, which would be devastating for the Blues, especially given Binnington's stellar play in these playoffs.
