Some surprising names, including multiple former Leafs, placed on waivers
Today was the last opportunity for teams to place players on waivers before they have to be cap compliant tomorrow at 5pm. The list includes some intriguing names along with a number of former Leafs.
Among those players, former Leafs Nick Foligno, Josh Leivo, Nic Petan, Aaron Dell, Scott Sabourin, Kevin Gravel and Antoine Bibeau have been placed on waivers by their respective teams. Additionally, Connor Ingram, Philippe Meyers and Julien Gauthier are among some additional surprising names to see on waivers.
With so many players having been waived, the Leafs might actually make it to the start of the season without losing anyone for once. Although, with Adam Gaudette, Victor Mete, Wayne Simmonds and Kyle Clifford on waivers, there is a good chance at least one of them gets claimed.
