With about 6 weeks remaining until the draft, and 7 weeks until free agency opens up, Spezza is going to get a first hand look at what the other side of hockey looks like. No word yet on what Spezza's actual roles and responsibilities will entail, but I'd imagine he'll be exposed to all areas of operations at first, just to get a feel for how the organization runs and who is responsible for what.
Given the fact that the draft and free agency appear to be his introduction into that side of the business, I'd imagine that Spezza will likely be working with the team's scouting staff and going through scouting reports and maybe even advising the scouts on what he sees in certain players as he reviews footage for both prospects and pending free agents.
