A bit of a concerning scene in Raleigh on Wednesday evening after Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov caught Bruins defender Hampus Lindholm with his head down, delivering a violent, heavy hit to the Swedish defenseman, who really had his bell rung on the play.

Lindholm did attempt to make it back to his feet, but was very clearly still on rubber legs and could not find his balance, falling over along the boards while his goaltender, Linus Ullmark, came to his aid, attempting to hold him up along the boards before Lindholm collapsed back down to the ice, leading Ullmark to signal for the trainer.

Lindholm needed to be helped off the ice and did not return to the game. If he misses any length of time, that would be an absolutely massive loss for the Bruins, who are already trailing the series 2-0. Hopefully, for Lindholm's sake, it wasn't as bad as it looked and that he'll be alright. That was a nasty collision.

The hit itself looked relatively clean. It appeared as though the body was the main point of contact, but just caught Lindholm off guard because he had his head down. I can't imagine any supplemental discipline for Svechnikov here. Then again, Player Safety is not the portrait of consistency either.
