The NHL makes an exciting announcement regarding 2022-23 uniforms
During the 2020-21 season, the NHL unleashed some stellar throwback jersies with a modern spin under the banner of "Reverse Retro". Some hit the mark hard, while others left much to be desired.
Well, it appears as though the teams that missed the mark will have a shot at redemption, as it was announced on Monday that Reverse Retro jerseys will be making a comeback next season with brand new designs.
Obviously, this is huge for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who unveiled this disaster last season:
The thought of the Leafs having a chance to redeem themselves for the very bland and poorly thought-out 2021 design is one that I'm certain most Leafs fans will fully embrace.
Obviously, with the Leafs going with a Toronto Arenas themed jersey for the Heritage Classic this weekend, it's unlikely that they'll double down on a new Arenas Reverse Retro. Could we see a new version of the Toronto St. Pats? Maybe a spin on a Sundin-era sweater?
Looking forward to the design reveals, hopefully at some point this summer!
