As of Saturday, prior to game three of the Western Conference Finals, the Colorado Avalanche are heavy favorites to win the Stanley Cup. Of the four teams remaining in the playoffs the Avs odds are by far the best, currently sitting at 65.6% chance of them winning it all.
Perhaps this shouldn't be too big a surprise, as the Avalanche finished the regular season with 119 points, second in the entire league. Additionally, the statistically weaker western conference has given them an easier path to the finals.
The New York Rangers currently have the second best odds at 17.3%, despite being up two games to zero against the defending Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Speaking of the Lightning, their current odds to threepeat sit at 9.8%. The Oilers have the lowest odds of any of the teams remaining at 7.2%.
