There are a number of very intriguing names who are expected to be available at this year's trade deadline. While most eyes are on Patrick Kane, Bo Horvat and Ryan O'Reilly, there's also another pretty big piece who is on an expiring contract and could move - Vladimir Tarasenko.

Tarasenko's name has been involved in trade rumours for a couple of seasons now, and with the Blues currently sitting outside of a playoff spot and O'Reilly already likely to be dealt, it's seeming more and more likely that the Blues ship off some of their bigger pieces to help bring in assets to build around the likes of Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou.

There may be a bit of a problem, however, with the trade deadline looming. Now just over 8 weeks away from the deadline, the Blues were dealt a pretty significant blow when they lost Tarasenko to an apparent hand injury last night. The injury was believed to have occurred when Tarasenko blocked a shot in front of the Blues' net. Here's a look.

Following the shot block, Tarasenko left the game and did not return. The Blues have yet to provide an update, as Tarasenko is likely having some imaging done on the injured hand. If he missed any significant length of time, it could make trading him at the deadline a little more complicated. However, if the injury is minor - and everyone is hoping that it is - the Blues could be one of the busier teams at this year's deadline.
