Seixeiro's latest comments on Friday morning on Leafs Morning Take make a lot of sense with regard to the off-season decisions made every year with Brendan Shanahan as President and Alternate Governor of the Toronto Maple Leafs and what fans can expect going forward. Here is a quote from Seixeiro from his spot on Leafs Morning Take:
Sid isn't wrong, as the Maple Leafs have made it known that their plans are to continue building around the core five, which never leaves much cap space for the supporting cast. In this sense, the only way for the Leafs to make the necessary changes to right the ship is to fire Shanahan.
Love him or hate him, Seixeiro speaks his mind. I don't always agree with what he has to say, but this time, it's tough to rebut his commentary, as the most common denominators between the Leafs and all of the failures during the Auston Matthews era have been Shanahan and Matthews. Obviously Matthews is doing his part as a generational talent. What is Shanahan doing? Food for thought.
