Tyler Bertuzzi scores a beauty against his former team
Tyler Bertuzzi has been pretty quiet so far during the pre-season in terms of his overall production, but thankfully, he ripped one home on Thursday night - his first goal against his former Detroit Red Wings, no less!
In the 2nd period of Thursday's pre-season game in Toronto, Bertuzzi had pressured the puck carrier, Wings defenseman Jared McIsaac, who coughed the puck up, giving Bertuzzi a clear shooting lane on 3rd string netminder Alex Lyon. Bertuzzi made no mistake, firing a blistering shot past Lyon to give the Leafs a 3-2 lead.
Good on Bertuzzi to use that pressure to force the turnover and then capitalize on it. Hopefully he can use that one as motivation for next Wednesday, when the Leafs open their season against the Montreal Canadiens.
