Video surfaces from 11 years ago of Luke Schenn talking about one day playing playoff hockey in Toronto; He'll now have that chance
Luke Schenn played his first 5 seasons and 317 games as a member of the Leafs after they drafted him fifth overall in the 2008 NHL draft. From there he has made stops in Philadelphia, Vancouver, Arizona, Anaheim, LA and Tampa. While he realized his ultimate dream of winning the Stanley Cup, which he did twice with Tampa, another one of his dreams is about to come true.
On February 27, 2012 Schenn talked about how it would be a dream come true to play playoff hockey in Toronto in a post-game interview. 11 years and when the season ends, 934 games later, he will finally realize that dream. Ironically, that dream will begin against the team he won two Stanley Cups with, and the only other team in the league that wears blue and white, in Tampa Bay.
With the playoffs slated to begin April 17th, Schenn will have waited 4067 days or 11 years, 1 month and 21 days to realize his dream of playing in the playoffs for the Leafs. The NHL's all-time leading defenseman for hits, will look to help the Leafs make it past the first round of the playoffs since 2004.
