During the second period, a good back check from Nylander became a turnover that sent him and Denis Malgin in on a 2-on-1. After waiting out the Nikita Zaitsev's desperate diving block, Willy slipped a gorgeous pass across to Malgin who buried it behind Sens newly acquired goaltender Max Talbot.
If you look closely, you may be able to spot Nylander's new tinted visor. No, it's not just him trying to look cool. After the game, Nylander revealed that the brightness of all the artificial lighting in the arena was causing him to have migraines. The new visor apparently helps with that.
Honestly, the tinted look suits Nylander, and fits perfectly with the Willy Styles nickname. It's not an obnoxious tint level like Ovechkin used to wear, just enough to be noticeable and help with the overwhelming brightness. If it helps him play better, Nylander can wear whatever he wants, and after game 1 of the preseason it seems to be working. Here's hoping this first game is a sign of things to come from the electric Swede!
