Young Canucks fan absolutely rips Leafs during commercial break arena contest
The Leafs lost a very winnable contest to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night, by a score of 4-1. After tying the game early in the third, the Leafs proceeded to give up 3 goals in just over 5 minutes, including two shorthanded tallies less than a minute apart, to concede the game. However, on the ice wasn't the only place the Leafs took a loss on Saturday.
During a TV timeout just over the midway point of the first period, the Canucks hosted an in-arena contest called "Retro Rewind". The point is the correctly guess what era items in old pictures are from. Saturday's contestant was a young girl who was shown a picture of two people and was asked what they were sitting on. She correctly guessed bicycles before being asked what era she thought the bikes were from. Without hesitation she immediately dropped the line, "from the last time the Leafs won the Cup," which sparked an eruption of cheers and laughter from Canucks fans in attendance.
Call my crazy, but I think this one might have been staged by the Canucks broadcast team!
