"While the Toronto Maple Leafs made the biggest splash during free agency by landing hometown hero John Tavares, the team lost a couple of key pieces.
One of those pieces was Tyler Bozak who signed a three year deal with the St. Louis Blues after spending his whole career in Toronto.
Bozak wasted no time as he put together a thank you letter for the city of Toronto posted on The Players Tribune.
The 32 year old said one of the things he'll always remember is his conversations with fans in the street:
"You all meant the world to me. Every conversation in public — even the ones where you told me I needed to be better — will stick with me. Because you cared, no matter what. And as a player that's what you want."

Bozak also gave new general manager Kyle Dubas a huge co-sign and told Leafs fans to enjoy what the GM has put together:
"You're in good hands, Toronto. The next few years are going to be a lot of fun. Believe in Kyle Dubas and the talent you have. Auston, William and Mitch can do anything. Trust me, I saw them in practice every day, they're special"

The letter features some incredible memories and even some good Phil Kessel stories, read the whole thing by clicking here. "
