The Toronto Maple Leafs came out to play for Game 2 in Boston on Monday, but if Brad Marchand had his way, the Bruins would have come back to tie the game on the power play after an embarrassing display of embellishment.

During the 3rd period of last night's game with the Leafs up 3-2 in the 3rd period, Charlie Coyle and Ilya Lyubushkin were tied up exchanging words and shoves after the whistle.

When Brad Marchand attempted to get involved, Tyler Bertuzzi took a whack at Marchand's back leg, sending Marchand down to the ice in apparent agony. The only problem was that the slash was delivered to the back of his right leg, but when Marchand went down, he clutched at his left knee.

Marchand has a reputation for being a pest and an agitator, but now we can add diver to the list as well.

Most of the NHL fanbases refer to Marchand as "The Rat" for a reason. He's always finding ways to be annoying on the ice and causing problems for the opposition. At least now we know that he can dish it out, but can't take it.

Thankfully for the Leafs, they were able to kill off the Bertuzzi slashing call and went on to win the game. The series is far from over, though, so I'm sure we can anticipate more of Marchand's shenanigans throughout the series.
