"New Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas has a full plate in front of him during his first offseason. While he's been pretty quiet so far when it comes to players already on the team needing new contracts, he's started to get down to business. The Maple Leafs and Dubas announced on Wednesday that they've signed defenseman Connor Carrick to a one year contract extension worth $1.3million. The 24 year old was one of two restricted free agents Dubas had to sit down with, the other will likely cost a whole lot more as William Nylander is also looking for a new contract. Carrick played 47 games for the Leafs last year and registered 12 points and 27 penalty minutes, he didn't suit up for any of the Leafs' playoff games.
