Dubas Gives Update Regarding Jake Gardiner.

"While Jake Gardiner might not be the most popular Toronto Maple Leafs' defenseman, he's been reliable for the last couple of years. Unfortunately for the Leafs, they've lost the defenseman for an unknown period of time. The blueliner was originally thought to just be dealing with back spasms, however it seems like a bit more now. While general manager Kyle Dubas didn't give details on what the second injury was, he told reporters that Gardiner was dealing with two injuries and is still currently listed as week to week. Dubas added that in hindsight he would have added another defenseman if he would have known both Gardiner and Travis Dermott would be sidelined.

Dubas says Gardiner remains week to week, but adds it is two separate injuries. In hindsight, said that had he team known that Gardiner and Dermott would both be out he might have added a D at the deadline.
