Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has provided some insight into forward Max Pacioretty and his reason for leaving Wednesday's practice before it even got underway.

After skating briefly prior to Wednesday's practice, Maple Leafs forward Max Pacioretty left before it even got underway as the team participated in its second on-ice session after the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
It was a mystery as to what had happened to Pacioretty that forced him to leave the session, but following practice, Craig Berube shed some light on the situation.
Berube told reporters after the practice that Pacioretty tweaked something before he managed to get on the ice. He's hoping it's nothing serious, but he doesn't have any definitive answers just yet.
"I really don't have any definite answers yet on him. I don't think it's serious. We'll just have to see where he's at."
It's been a tough season for the veteran Pacioretty with the Maple Leafs as he's managed to suit up for 37 of the team's 55 games so far in 2024-25.
In those 37 games, Max Pacioretty has 5 goals and 13 points.
There is better news on another player as Calle Jarnkrok has taken a huge step forward in anticipation of his long-awaited return. There's still no definite return date, but Berube said Jarnkrok is "really coming along."
Toronto's first game following the 4 Nations Face-Off break comes Saturday as the Maple Leafs host the Carolina Hurricanes.
