A day after celebrating a Stanley Cup win with the Florida Panthers in their official parade, Stolarz is now leaving the beach for Toronto as he has agreed to a two-year deal worth $2.5M per season.
The 30-year-old played in 27 games for the Panthers last season posting a 16-7-2 record with a .925 save percentage and a 2.03 GAA. In 109 career NHL games, the 6'6, 243-pound goaltender has posted a 43-31-9 record, a .914 save percentage and a 2.64 GAA.
The Leafs were in the market for a veteran goaltender to provide some stability between the pipes due to the injury concerns surrounding Woll.
Stolarz and Woll are now the Leafs' duo for at least the next two seasons, which is the most stability the Leafs have had in net in years and will give the likes of Dennis Hildeby some more time to develop with the Toronto Marlies.
