Leafs officially miss out on Brandon Montour, who signs mega-deal with Kraken
It has been a great week for Brandon Montour, who captured the Stanley Cup and has now cashed in on the largest financial contract of his career.
Montour has gone through a life changing week, capturing his first Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers last Monday and on the opening of NHL Free Agency he has landed the most lucrative contract of his career, signing a seven-year deal with the Seattle Kraken worth a little over $70M per season.
The 30-year old Montour has spent parts of the last four seasons with the Florida Panthers after being dealt by the Buffalo Sabres. Montour had a career 2022-23 campaign scoring 16 goals and 73 points in 80 games. His scoring was lowered to more of his career average last season, but he still put up 8 goals and 33 points in 66 games.
He would add 11 points in 22 playoff games on the Panthers route to the Stanley Cup.
