"The Toronto Maple Leafs might be thinking about a move nobody expected. Bringing back Frederik Andersen for another run. Once the season was done, many believed Andersen had played his final game in a Leafs' uniform and he was heavily attached to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a possible timeshare with Tristan Jarry. NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reports that Andersen might be open to a timeshare type scenario in Toronto as well. While he makes it clear there's no guarantee it's Andersen's first choice, the goalie has had talks with the Leafs and confirmed to them he would be interested in a timeshare with Jack Campbell. As LeBrun states, it's a big change in situation as many presumed he was gone for sure.
This doesn't mean Andersen is coming back to Toronto for sure. — NHL Watcher (@NHL_Watcher) June 30, 2021
